Bourke Parrots - secretaire

These are my favourite Australian native parrots, they're about the size of a budgie, fairly quiet and easy to get on with. I had a pet one for years that lived in the house and 'helped' me while I was painting. She had been rescued as a tiny chick in our outdoor aviary, (she'd fallen out of the nest) and handfed. We still have a heap of them outside. Anyway I painted this some time ago & thought I'd show you.

My dear little bird had a long and happy life and is now has a permanent spot in my garden.
